Brian Shadrick

Shortly after being introduced to running by Arleen Dineen through the Centennial neighborhood fun runs in the early 80’s, Brian started running with the Howard County Junior Striders. He continued running cross country through high school, but began to lose the drive to train during his senior year at Centennial.

After a very brief college career as a cross country and track walk-on at College Park, Brian hung up his running shoes in 1991. It wasn’t until the start of his early onset mid-life crisis in 2012 that he realized how terribly out of shape he had become, and started running again to lose some weight and get healthy. Also, with two young daughters, he wanted to be a good role model.

Now as a master, Brian has come close to regaining his high school form. He has a renewed interested in training and racing, and looks forward to testing his limits moving forward.
