Nadia Wasserman |
Nadia Wasserman has been a Strider since 1983. She joined the Board of Directors in 1984 as director of the Women’s Committee. She then served on the board in numerous capacities, including as an At Large Member, as Vice President and finally as President for three years. Nadia was race director of the Women’s Distance Festival and Clyde’s 10K and co-directed the Challenge Race. Nadia also co-directed a number of weekly series and was in charge of the water for the Bagel Runs. She has won numerous Strider Awards: Volunteer of the Year, Most Improved Runner and, in 1998, Grand Master Runner. She was recognized in 1998 by USA T&F Potomac Association for her contribution to Women’s Long Distance Running. |

Nadia started to run in 1975 in order to control her weight. She has a 10K “PR” of 46:42, a 10 mile “PR” of 78:51. Her proudest achievement was qualifying for Boston in 1999 at the Steamtown Marathon. Nadia, who continues to volunteer at almost all club races, has done registration for all the Run Through the Grapevine races. She is on the Scholarship Committee and volunteers at the high school cross country meets. |
