Junior Striders Summer Track - 2011
The AAU Club Championships (held at Walt Disney World the week of 7/13-17/11) is still an option for high-school age kids!
Looking to race on the track one more time this year while mixing in a vacation: All Maryland runners are welcome to join the Bullseye Running team that is affiliated with the Howard County Striders and compete at the AAU Club Championships (held at Walt Disney World the week of 7/13-17/11).
Consider checking the results from the meet last year before deciding and committing to a trip to Florida, here is the link: (http://aauathletics.org/Results/2010Results/ClubChampionships/DailyResults.aspx).
Here is tentative meet schedule: (http://image.aausports.org/sports/athletics/pdfs/2011/2011AAUCLUBSchedule.pdf).
Set up your travel and lodging plans now, there is no team hotel or rules as many want to vacation also so have fun! The club only pays for the AAU Membership, meet entry fees and uniforms; travel and all other expenses are not paid by club.
Practicing with the club is optional. The middle school, elementary school and a couple high school athletes will do some speed workouts on Monday and Thursday evenings from 5:45-6:45 pm at Oakland Mills High. High school and college age runners will be doing summer base training for XC on Monday (Oakland Mills High), Wednesday (Rockburn Branch Park off of Landing Rd.) and Thursday (Howard Community College Gym) evenings starting at 6:45pm. Feel free to join either or both groups whenever you can.
