Katie Breitenbach has been an official Striders member since June 2006, when she and her husband Mark joined shortly after  their wedding. She moved to Maryland in the fall of 2002 after graduating from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA, where she was a cross-country and track team participant and also a captain in her junior and senior years. By her senior year, her focus track event was the steeplechase 3K, where she held the school record until 2005. Since leaving the world of collegiate running, she has competitively raced distances ranging from the 5K to the marathon, including the Boston Marathon in 2006. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, puzzle solving, and spending time with her husband Mark
