Columbia, MD
Event Information

16 teams; most with punny names, came out to compete in the Howard County Striders All Fruit Relay on Sunday May 22nd at Oakland Mills Middle School.

Every team was required to use a fruit baton to pass between team members. There were coconuts, pineapples, lemons, limes, oranges, bananas, tomatoes, kiwis, dragonfruits (one team had dragon tails), even a fruit loop necklace flying around the Oakland Mills neighborhood. The Lovely Bunch of Coconuts finished 1st, carrying not one but two coconuts. A fun time was had by all.

"The most delicious relay in town"

The All-Fruit Relay occurs each May at Oakland Mills Middle School. Participants consist of a team of 4 runners, each of whom successively run one loop on the 2-mile course and vehemently deny any role in their horribly pun-filled team name.

The relay baton is a piece of fruit (choose wisely).
