Dee Nelson, an occasional visitor to the striders weeklies, and Ted Poulos won the 2 mile race. Marquel Bowler won the women's 2 mile race with 2nd place Sarah Lebro just 10 seconds behind. Denise Thiebaut and Pat Keating were uncontested in the other 2 races. Ronnie Wong says he was using the 2 mile run as a cool down from a marathon race earlier in the day. Intermittent rain and cool weather were offset somewhat by a canopy brought by Brad Speierman and homemade breads from Ellie Bateman.

James Moreland, Greg Herczeg, Eric and Greg Schuler ran all 3 races, which were spaced 5 minutes apart.  It's particularly noteworthy that Eric Schuler is 9 years old.  Check out those times!  Kevin Betts, winner of last years Metric Marathon, won the 1 mile race.  It was his turn to hold their 3 month old baby, while Tanya Betts posted an impressive 13:23 in the 2 mile event.  The entire Esposito family was on hand.  Joey edged out Johnna in the 800 meter.  Eight year old Jessie Esposito (8:33) was not far behind her brother Jacob (8:16) in the 1 mile event.
