Threatening clouds gave way to sunshine at Howard County Striders 5K weekly race at Swansfield Elementary School. Doug Kuderna kept 1st place Ted Poulos in sight but was unable to overtake him. Johnna Esposito won the women's race. New weekly runner, Diane Seker (2nd women), posted an impressive 23:55. The youngest entrant, Jacob Esposito, is showing great promise with his 27:10 finish.

Kerrie Bowes ran a 13:10, a new women's course record at Howard Country Striders 2 mile race at Jeffers Hill Neighborhood Center. Anthony Fleg broke away from the top four finishers at the halfway point in the mens's 10K. Joe Drissell beat frequent winner, Ted Poulos, in the 2 miler.
