Debbie has been a swimmer her entire life and swam competitively in college at Brandeis University. At the age of 30, she took up running purely for cross training. Debbie only ran one to two times a week for several years, but started doing local races for fun and did well in her age group. She became involved with the running community and in her 50‘s and now 60’s, began to win the majority of races she ran in her age group. In 2014, she ran the Columbia Metric Marathon and won first grandmaster. Debbie ran her first marathon in 2015 and qualified for Boston during her third marathon.
